The night of climbing skins 2014

Páťa wrote in the middle of the week there is gonna be a night ski running competition on Saturday and hobby category is open. Though the snow conditions are worse and worse, it was better plan than staying in Prague. We arrived to Jánské Lázně at noon and guys went to register. I preferred to go for a trip instead and join the party later. They had few hours left before the start and we climbed one slope together before splitting up. For bad snow conditions I had to keep on ski slopes and cross-country skiing tracks all the time, but sunshine made the day beautiful anyway.
Climbing the slope with boys.
Sunset on the top forced me to make on selfie.
And head quickly down before the light would be off.

Blueberries and trees were only sprinkled by snow.

And then first professional competitors came and I couldn't believe how fast they were skating uphill. It just confirmed my decision not to compete was right because my favorite tour skiing has nothing to do with what they are up to. But still have to admit these guys have to be in really good shape. Night time made the competition attractive to watch with so many torches all around.

The next day we headed to Modrý Důl and Studniční Hora hoping there to ski some off piste. Big group after big party meant slow progress but big fun and a lot of laughter :-)
This is called skis, not the ones at night...
Páťa's problematic skins needed few adjustments, with a screw driver and some duct tape you can't be surprised by anything...
Skins off and down we go!

No pictures taken on the way down. Since we ended carrying the skis half way up and half down and only the upper part allowed us to make a few turns, I simply wanted to enjoy them :-)
